Ali Mahani

I'm Ali Mahani, a passionate Machine Learning Researcher with a love for using and contributing to Open-Source Software (OSS). I got my BSc in Physics from Sharif University of Technology in 2023, focusing on Complex Systems, Computational Neuroscience, and Dynamical Systems.

I'm currently a Thesis-based MSc student in Physics, specializing in Computational Neuroscience at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI), University of Calgary. I work under the supervision of Dr. Wilten Nicola, working on neuromorphic computing. I specifically focus on reservoir computng using FORCE training. In order to make my work easier and more reproducible, I have developed an open-source framework for training and validating reservoir computing solutions, called rcTorch This tool is based on, and is compatible with PyTorch and supports GPU acceleration.
